AMHERST, N.Y. — The University of Toledo men’s basketball team departed Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport at 1 p.m. Friday for its game at Buffalo.
For Brett Rau — UT’s first-year director of player development — the trip began weeks earlier.
He had been in regular communication with Chick-fil-A so the team’s lunch was waiting as they boarded the plane. The shootaround at Alumni Arena was scheduled through UB’s director of basketball operations Tim Saunders and director of athletic facilities operations Patty Murphy. Dinner orders at Texas Roadhouse were taken days before the Rockets traveled and passed on to restaurant staff, who had the meals prepared upon UT’s arrival.
