TEMPERANACE — Bedford Hills Golf Club has always leaned into its location in a college sports hotbed, naming each of its nine-hole courses after a football-obsessed university: Buckeye, Wolverine, and Irish.
Owner Sal Tubeileh performed an offseason restoration, except this one didn’t feature bulldozers and chainsaws. All Tubeileh needed was nine new pin flags.
The Irish was renamed the Rocket, an homage to the hometown University of Toledo.
“It makes sense. First, I’m an alumnus from the University of Toledo,” said Tubeileh, who graduated from UT in 1994. “It also makes sense to support the local community.
