NASSAU, Bahamas — As University of Toledo coach Jason Candle was left to assess the 35-32 Bahamas Bowl loss to Florida International — the Rockets’ third straight bowl loss after Candle and UT won the 2015 Boca Raton Bowl in his head coaching debut — he knows he also will have to evaluate why the losses have become a trend.
“We’re not going to let this thing ruin our spirit, ruin our confidence moving forward, but we eventually have to start learning lessons from games like this, whatever those lessons may be,” Candle said. “As far as the week goes and the trip goes, it was good for our kids to be out of the country to play a football game in a beautiful place.
