CLEVELAND, Ohio - Toledo sophomore Athena Welsh was named Second-Team All-Mid-American Conference for her 10th-place finish in the MAC Championships on Saturday in Oxford, Ohio.
Welsh completed the 6k championship course in 21:10.7 to be the first Rocket to cross the finish line. She becomes the first all-conference performer for Toledo since five runner received the award in 2014.
Welsh and the Rockets finished second as a team, just 54 points behind nationally ranked Eastern Michigan.
Qualifying runners will compete in the Great Lakes Regionals on Friday, Nov. 10.
