Toledo football, who was picked to win the Mid-American Conference and potentially fight for a college football playoff bid, is 3-2 heading into the bye week.
The Rockets’ two road losses to Kentucky and Western Michigan came by nine total points and in both games, self-inflicted errors cost them arguably their best chance to play for a national title.
However, Toledo still can set its sights on making the trip to Ford Field to play for a conference championship — something it is expected to do.
“I think I know what we're capable of, but ultimately at the end of the day it's going to come down to what you're willing to do each week,” Toledo coach Jason Candle said after the Rockets beat Akron 45-3 Saturday.
