Back to the Toledo Rockets Newsfeed

5 a.m. rehab sessions propelled Finn to complete performance against Northern Illinois

Adam Barta and Aaron Wass worked overtime last week.

The University of Toledo athletic trainers were in the training room every morning at 5 a.m. with Dequan Finn.

The UT quarterback suffered a back injury during the Western Michigan game that required a trip to the hospital. Finn’s pained reaction and subsequent carting off the field was a concerning sight for the Rockets. Initially, it appeared that Finn would miss at least one game if not multiple.

But he was back on the practice field preparing for Northern Illinois, a welcome development for Toledo. Even more important, though, were the early morning rehab sessions with Barta and Wass, resulting in a 100 percent healthy Finn for Saturday’s win over NIU.
