With most University of Toledo student-athletes returning to campus for training activities in their given sport, a big batch of coronavirus testing was done throughout this week.

Beginning on Monday, 217 tests were administered to student-athletes, coaches, and staff members with 163 of those tests being given to student-athletes. Of all those tests, four students tested positive for coronavirus, according to UT associate athletic director for sports medicine Brian Jones.

Jones said the four athletes who tested positive were immediately isolated and contract tracing began to determine who they might have exposed to the virus.

"Right now those four that are positive are isolated for 14 days, and those folks that they came in contact with are quarantined as well for that 14 days from their exposure," Jones said.
