Jason Candle got his second bowl victory last year, with both triumphs coming in the Boca Raton Bowl.
Now, he wants to get two in a row. Toledo hasn’t accomplished that feat since the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
But that’s not the only thing at stake for UT. The Rockets can also win their 12th game, which would tie the single-season program record set in 1970 and 1971. Candle had an 11-win season in 2017, but Toledo lost to Appalachian State in the Dollar General Bowl.
The Rockets are a 3.5-point underdog to Wyoming in the Arizona Bowl, as Las Vegas and bettors readjusted following Dequan Finn’s entrance into the transfer portal.
