Bobby Esiaba didn’t make the Texas Tech football team the first time he went through walk-on tryouts.
The second time around, he stuck — and then he stuck it out all the way through his senior season for little glory. Esiaba’s playing time comes when many Red Raiders fans in the stadium have headed to the concession stand, or when Tech fans at home have made a quick run to the bathroom.
He gets in on special teams, rarely at any other time, and he never thought of giving it up.
What motivates a guy like that?
