Texas Tech's Zhaire Smith picked 16th overall in NBA draft, heads to Philly as part of Sixers-Suns trade

Zhaire Smith is reportedly heading to Philadelphia.

The 6-foot-4, 199-pound guard/forward completed his rapid rise from three-star recruit to NBA first-rounder on Thursday night, when the Garland Lakeview Centennial and Texas Tech product was selected with the 16th overall pick of the 2018 draft.

The Phoenix Suns made the pick but will ship Smith to the 76ers as part of a draft night trade, according to reports:

Smith, rated by the 247Sports Composite last year as the country's No. 194 recruit coming out of high school last year, burst onto the scene after a standout freshman season with the Red Raiders, helping lead the program to its first Elite Eight appearance.
