Texas Tech's Carter announces transfer interest; looks to explore other opportunities

The Texas Tech Red Raider quarterback depth took a hit on Tuesday. Tech senior signal caller McLane Carter announced his interest in utilizing the transfer portal via social media.

Carter started his junior campaign for the Red Raiders before enduring an injury to his ankle, which limited his participation for a majority of the 2018 season. He went through an ankle surgery that kept him out of spring participation, as well, in the 2019 offseason. In the team's season 2018 opener, Carter suffered a high-ankle sprain against Ole Miss and later re-aggravated the injury. He finished the season with 318 passing yards and two touchdowns on 28 of 51 passes in a limited five games of work.
