Fans of the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Sam Houston State Bearkats will experience all new seating in the Jones AT&T Stadium when they take their seats Saturday to watch the 1,000th game of Texas Tech football.
Robert Giovannetti, senior associate athletics director of external operations for Tech, said the Red Raiders’ first game of the season will give fans a chance to appreciate about 45,000 new seats, including bleachers, bleachers with backs and chairbacks.
Michael Molina, vice chancellor for facilities planning and construction with the Tech System, said the university kept about the same amount of seats available, neither gaining nor losing seating capacity in the Jones AT&T Stadium.
