Jarrett Culver is headed to Minnesota.
The Texas Tech star sophomore was selected sixth overall by the Phoenix Suns during Thursday night's NBA draft at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, though the Culver is joining the Timberwolves as part of a trade the teams agreed to before the start of the event.
His selection marks the first time the Red Raiders have produced first-round picks in consecutive years after Zhaire Smith was chosen 16th overall by Phoenix in 2018 (then traded to Philadelphia in a draft-night deal).
Culver at sixth overall becomes the second-highest Red Raider to be chosen in the draft after Tony Battie, who went fifth overall to Denver in 1997.
