Texas Tech’s Steven Gingery may have turned in a magnificent 12-strikeout performance on the mound, but it was his offense that did most of the work on a blustery Wednesday afternoon at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
Steven Gardner and Tyler Neslony went 7 for 9 with four RBIs, including back-to-back home runs in the second inning, as the No. 23 Red Raiders went on to defeat NMSU 14-2 in a non-conference game.
With the win, the Red Raiders (7-2 overall) head into a critical three-game series with No. 22 Cal State Fullerton with momentum.
