Texas Tech hosted its first open practice of the spring football season Saturday at Grande Communications Stadium in Midland.
Patrick Mahomes led four touchdown drives highlighted by a 27-yard touchdown pass to junior receiver Cameron Batson and a 32-yard touchdown run by junior Justin Stockton.
The junior quarterback breezed through the scrimmage completing 13-of-20 pass attempts for 188 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions, including a two-yard touchdown pass to junior receiver Zach Austin.
"I think I did pretty well," Mahomes said. "I tried to be efficient, tried to not take many sacks, not turn the ball over and I think I took one sack but we scored all four drives so I mean we were pretty efficient.
