Texas Tech QB McLane Carter carted off the field after suffering apparent ankle injury vs. Ole Miss

On Saturday, Texas Tech finally revealed junior McLane Carter as its starting quarterback.

In the first quarter, Carter was had to be carted off the field with an apparent ankle injury.

Carter exited the game after completing 4-of-7 passes for 49 yards, including a 31-yard bomb to sophomore receiver T.J. Vasher.

After his exit, head coach Kliff Kingsbury opted for freshman Alan Bowman over sophomore Jett Duffey to take Carter's place.

McLane Carter hurt his ankle and had to leave the game. Kliff Kingsbury replaced him with true freshman QB Alan Bowman (a Grapevine product) instead of Mansfield Legacy grad Jett Duffey.
