Texas Tech may have lost its quarterback of the future.

Rising 2020 Austin Regents quarterback Wilson Long backed out of his verbal pledge to the Red Raiders on Monday afternoon.

He announced his decision via Twitter.

A three-star prospect, Long originally committed to Texas Tech last November under former head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Long does not hold any other offers.

At 5-foot-11, 178 pounds, Long is ranked as the No. 26 pro-style quarterback in the country and No. 76 overall prospect in the state, per 247Sports Composite.

Texas Tech is down to one commit in its 2020 recruiting class.
