LAS VEGAS — The Texas Tech Lady Raiders suffered their first loss of the season late Saturday night, a 77-73 defeat against Washington in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Lady Raiders were hot from outside early against the Washington zone, taking a 6-0 lead off back-to-back 3s, but the Huskies eventually warmed up and had a 20-17 lead after the first quarter. Rayven Brooks had eight of her career high-matching 26 points in the first quarter, on her way to being named to the all-tournament team.
“I thought Rayven, Jamie Roe and Ivonne [CookTaylor] played with a great passion to win,” Texas Tech coach Candi Whitaker said.
