Texas Tech hopes to make history in the Elite Eight, while Villanova looks to repeat it

BOSTON - Texas Tech will be trying to make program history Sunday in the NCAA East Regional finals in Boston.

Villanova will be aiming to recreate history. Yes, there is a difference.

Two years ago, the Wildcats won the NCAA championship in Houston on a buzzer-beater by Kris Jenkins. A decent chunk of the roster was around for that title, including standout junior guard Jalen Brunson, and understands everything that can happen in the tournament.

"I think it definitely helps just because of the experience," Brunson said, "but we know they are hungry and have never been to this point and want to keep advancing.
