The first Monday of the New Year was a busy one for Texas Tech football as head coach Kliff Kingsbury quickly filled a pair of open assistant positions on his staff.
Texas Tech announced that Emmett Jones was promoted to an offensive assistant position on the coaching staff. Jones has spent a significant amount of time in the Dallas high school coaching scene; having spent some time as Dallas Skyline’s offensive coordinator before serving three seasons as head coach of powerhouse South Oak Cliff high school. After his tenure at South Oak Cliff, Jones was hired by Texas Tech in January of 2015 and was named Director of Player Personnel.
