Texas Tech football fans have spent less time thinking about today’s Big 12 game with West Virginia than they have just about any game this year. It’s hard to blame us though.
After all, Tuesday was the return of Texas Tech basketball meaning Chris Beard is back in our lives on a consistent basis for the next five months. And while we’ve all been overdosing on Red Raider hoops, the Texas Tech football program has been toiling away in relative anonymity.
That’s what happens to a 3-5 football team that is barreling towards its fourth-straight losing season, especially when your campus houses a top 15 basketball and top 10 baseball team.
