The biggest news coming out of Lubbock this weekend was the decision by Jett Duffey to enter his name in the transfer portal. Starting eight games for the Texas Tech football team this season, the junior apparently wanted more certainty about his role on next year’s team and that’s easy to understand.
What wasn’t working in Duffey’s favor is that if he were to remain at Tech (which is still technically a possibility until he signs with another program) he would have to take part in an offseason QB competition for the third-straight year.
That’s not where he shines.
