In every sport, there are just some places fans dread seeing their teams play. Norman, Oklahoma is near the top of that list in the college football world and that’s where today finds the Texas Tech football team.
This will be the 27th time that these programs have met with all but three coming in Big 12 play. Not surprisingly, the Sooners have a 20-6 lead in the series, which dates back to a 34-9 OU win in Lubbock in 1992.
In fact, Tech didn’t beat the Sooners until the fourth game in this rivalry. In 1996, QB Zebbie Lethride had 239 total yards and three touchdowns (two on the ground) to lead Tech to a 22-12 win in Norman.
