One of the advantages new Texas Tech football head coach Matt Wells and his staff have to be thankful for is that they have inherited a team that is returning tons of experience. In fact, most expect the Red Raiders to have no true freshmen starting on either side of the ball when the season kicks off on August 31st.
That’s not to suggest that the 2019 signing class has proven to be a dud thus far. Rather, it is a nod to how young last year’s roster was and how aggressive Wells and his staff were in the grad transfer and JUCO markets as they tried to fill needs this offseason.
