Before new Texas Tech football head coach Matt Wells and his staff hit the recruiting trail this week, they won an important recruiting battle within their own locker room. After meeting with the new staff on Tuesday, defensive end Nelson Mbanasor told Jarrett Johnson of Inside the Red Raiders that he will remain at Texas Tech.
Just two weeks ago, Mbanasor announced that he intended to leave the program potentially leaving the Red Raiders dangerously thin along the defensive line next year. He saw action in only six games as a redshirt freshman this year registering nine total tackles and a pass deflection but many consider him a potential building-block on the defensive front.
