Texas Tech football: 3 Red Raiders that disappointed in 2018

Entering the 2018 season, expectations for the Texas Tech football team were low (at least from a national perspective). Unfortunately, the Red Raiders proved those prognostications correct by going just 5-7 thanks to a 5-game losing streak to end the season.

Certainly, injuries were the biggest factor in the team’s demise. And it started with the quarterbacks.

Kliff Kingsbury was the first coach in the “Air Raid” era of the program to have to rely on three different starting quarterbacks. In different eras, Tech would have had teams built to overcome devastating QB injuries by relying on the defense and the ground game.
