In last year’s meeting between Texas Tech and Texas-El Paso, the Red Raiders needed a touchdown pass with less than three minutes left to escape with a win.
That game saw six lead changes.
This 69-20 Red Raiders drubbing of the Miners saw none.
Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes finished 18 of 33 for 361 yards and six combined touchdowns (four passing, two rushing) with a quarterback rating of 186.4.
DeAndre Washington also rushed for a touchdown and Jakeem Grant caught seven passes for 141 yards and a touchdown.
