For the past five seasons, the Big 12 and the SEC have squared off on the basketball court in the Big 12/SEC Challenge, a trumped-up event created by ESPN as a way to generate ratings and interest as college basketball aims to fill the hours of programming left open by the end of the college football season. But interestingly, in this year’s challenge, the Texas Tech basketball team will face off with a former Southwest Conference rival adding a bit of extra intrigue for fans on both sides.
The Arkansas Razorbacks will travel to Lubbock on January 26, 2019, making it the second time the Hogs and Red Raiders have faced off in the event.
