Anyone that has been fired after doing what by the standards of the position is to be considered an excellent job knows how painful and upsetting that situation can be. In the 2013 NCAA Tournament, Tubby Smith led the Minnesota Golden Gophers to the second round meaning his team was one of the 32 best in the nation but apparently that was not good enough.
