On a night when the shots weren’t falling for the Texas Tech basketball team, head coach Chris Beard saw his team turn in another rugged defensive effort to knock off Southeastern Louisiana 59-40 and move to 3-0. The Red Raiders shot just 29% from three point range (5-19) and 62.5% from the free throw line, but it was the defense that carried the team to its 41st consecutive non-conference home win.
The Red Raiders held the Lions to just 26.1% shooting (12-46) and forced 15 turnovers in holding its opponent to 40 points or fewer for the third time in three games to begin the 2018-19 season.
