When a 8-1 team goes on the road and sweeps a top-25 team to move to 11-1 in league play, accolades are certain to follow. On Monday, Texas Tech sophomore second baseman Michael Davis garnered those accolades as Big 12 player of the week.
In five road games versus ranked opponents (Florida State and Oklahoma State) last week, Davis collected 11 RBI. His bat helped propel his team to a 4-1 mark over this daunting stretch.
Davis finished the week in style with seven RBI in the series finale against the Cowboys.
