Texas Tech new head coach Matt Wells expanded his roster with the announcement of the addition of Penn State transfer Zech McPhearson on Tuesday. McPhearson signed an athletic scholarship agreement to play for the Red Raiders in the fall.
McPhearson, who will graduate from Penn State, will enroll at Tech in time for summer workout sessions and will have two years worth of eligibility with the team. His signing makes him Well's fourth defensive back that will join the team come June. The Red Raiders, not long ago, signed Dequanteous Watts -- an Atlanta, Ga.
