Tech WBB gets 5-star commit
Texas Tech women’s basketball got its biggest recruit since the Marsha Sharp era Sunday night.
Or maybe ever.
Brittany Brewer of Abilene Wylie became the Lady Raiders’ first five-star commit when she called Candi Whitaker to confirm her commitment Sunday night. Brewer,a 6-foot-4 post, is rated the No. 35 recruit in the 2016 signing class, per ESPN’s HoopGurlz.
Whitaker posted a picture of herself jumping on Twitter, sending off speculation on the recruit. Multiple media outlets then confirmed that the commit was Brewer, who helped the Lady Bulldogs to a second consecutive trip to the state tournament and the 2015 Class 4A state championship game, Brewer posted averages of 16.
