It’s been 12 days since Baylor demolished what remained of Floyd Casey Stadium, setting off a series of explosive charges throughout the Bears’ former football field. Thursday, the university took it a step further using a wrecking ball on its football program, sending shockwaves throughout college football.

Baylor didn’t fire Art Briles on Thursday because he failed to win — he won and seemed poised to keep winning.

They did it because he didn’t win the right way.

Briles was fired Thursday after an internal investigation found “fundamental failure” by the university in its handling of accusations that football player’s committed sexual assault.
