ARLINGTON — Kliff Kingsbury doesn’t have family in Lubbock.
His friends have been put to the side.
If he has a girlfriend, she probably hasn’t heard from him in a while.
No, for the past 14 weeks Kingsbury has been immersed in Red Raiders football.
“That’s all I do, is work on this football team and this program and try to build something special,” Kingsbury said after Texas Tech defeated Baylor 54-35 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Friday. “I’m excited about the direction it’s going. We have 18 or 19 starters coming back and 12 mid-year signees, and a lot of guys there in the spring that we can continue to work with and continue to build on.
