Scott Qualifies for U.S. Open

Texas Tech men’s golfer Sandy Scott qualified on Wednesday to play in the 2020 U.S. Open. Scott, one of only 7 amateurs in the world (!) to compete in the event, will take part in the 120^th playing of the tournament at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, NY, from September 14^th through the 20^th. The Scotland native earned this honor by being positioned in the top 7 amateurs in the world rankings this week, coming in at number 6. Other amateurs joining him include, Davis Thompson (University of Georgia) and Chun An Yu (Arizona State University).
