Controversial call

Officials flagged Jah’Shawn Johnson for targeting and ejected the Texas Tech safety in the second quarter of Oklahoma State’s 70-53 victory Saturday at Jones Stadium.

The play came midway through the second quarter, with Tech leading 31-14. Johnson came up to hit receiver David Glidden on a pass that went incomplete. Though referee Alan Eck announced that video review confirmed the call, it did not go over well with Tech.

Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury, when given an explanation on the sideline, shook his head and gave a dismissive wave toward the official with whom he’d talked.
