One that got away
Jordan Sterns committed to Texas Tech in March 2012, but signed 11 months later with Oklahoma State. That’s haunted the Red Raiders.
The junior safety from Cibolo Steele is on his way to leading the Cowboys in tackles for the second year in a row. He made 103 stops last season, and he has 57 — 17 more than the next closest teammate — this season.
Tech running backs coach Mike Jinks was Sterns’ high school coach.
Front-line concerns
A key matchup today is Texas Tech’s offensive line against Oklahoma State’s pass rush that’s produced a Big 12-high 27 sacks.
