Samaje Perine burst onto the national scene last season in his first year at Oklahoma.
The then true freshman torched opposing defenses for a league-high 131.6 yards per game and 21 touchdowns.
Perine strung together an impressive three game performance midway through last season with 213 rushing yards against Texas Tech, 427 rushing yards against Kansas and 151 rushing yards against Oklahoma State.
That three-game total of 791 rushing yards was the highest by any player in consecutive games in Oklahoma history.
At the end of the season, Perine was named to the 2014 All-Big 12 First Team by the league coaches, as well as awarded the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year.
