It appears word is spreading quick about impending coaching changes to the Texas Tech football staff.
Ivory Jackson, a senior defensive tackle for Amarillo High, confirmed Monday that Mike Smith and Kevin Curtis will not return next season.
Jackson was scheduled to have an in-home visit with Smith on Sunday. But those plans changed after he received a call from his former position coach.
That’s when Jackson said he was told of the moves.
“It was hard at first,” Jackson said Monday by phone. “He told me I was the first one of his commits to be told of the news.
