At least Candi Whitaker doesn’t have to listen to Sonny and Cher’s “I Got you Babe” when she wakes up every morning.
But, for the Texas Tech women’s basketball coach, every day has been Groundhog Day this season — not just Tuesday when the Lady Raiders once again got off to a slow start and lost by 27 to West Virginia.
“It’s Groundhog Day correct? This is Groundhog Day for me every day. When you going to change. When are you going to learn and stop doing the same things over and over again,” Whitaker said Tuesday, referencing the 1993 Bill Murray film that saw his character relive the same day over and over again.
