If anyone had said in August that Texas Tech would hold an opponent to less than 30 and lose, most people would have laughed it off. The last time the Red Raiders were held to just 3 points in a game was back in 2006 against another top 20 TCU team.

Nic Shimonek played his worse game by far going 17/33 for 137 yards and zero touchdowns. He constantly overthrew open receivers and had a fumble in the fourth quarter which effectively killed any chance of a comeback.
