Former Tech, Carter standout Andre Emmett aims for MVP as postseason begins

In a league with former NBA stars like Rashard Lewis and Amar'e Stoudemire, former Texas Tech standout Andre Emmett has made a name for himself.

It only took him 14 years and 16 overseas stints -- from Europe, South America, Mexico and Asia -- to finally get his chance in the spotlight in a professional basketball league.

The BIG3, a 3-on-3 professional basketball league founded by Ice Cube and run by commissioner Clyde Drexler, comes to Dallas for the second time Friday. And when the announcers call Emmett's name Friday night, he'll know whether he has won the MVP award in a league that features a multitude of former NBA players.
