Here's what Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury says Jett Duffey needs to improve to move up the depth chart

When starting quarterback McLane Carter went down with a high-ankle sprain in the first quarter of a season-opening loss to Ole Miss, sophomore Jett Duffey appeared to be next in line.

Instead, head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who throughout the offseason maintained that it was a three-quarterback race for the starting job, opted for freshman Alan Bowman.

During Texas Tech's weekly press conference on Tuesday, Kingsbury shared what he thinks Duffey needs to improve.

"The ball security is something that he's got to get better at. He's got a very strong arm. He's very talented, and so he'll take some risks.
