When the pitchers were drafted for the Red and Black Series, Tanner Gardner had a message for the Black team when his squad chose John Henry Gonzalez.

Those words proved true as the Black team got only one hit off the Red team’s starter.
However, once he left the mound the Black team scored five runs to clinch a 5-0 victory in seven innings Sunday afternoon inside Rip Griffin Park.
“They were drafted off which day they could start,” Tech coach Tim Tadlock said. “The other team picked Davis (Martin), so the other team got John Henry.
