LUBBOCK, TX - Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells added a former Red Raider standout to his coaching staff on Thursday. According to a press release from Texas Tech athletics, Wells announced the hiring of Joel Filani as the new wide receiver coach.
Filani, who was a two-time All-Big 12 first team selection, recorded 2,667 receiving yards and hauled in 23 touchdowns during his time from 2003 to 2006 with the Red Raiders. According to the press release, his best performance came his senior season when he recorded 91 receptions for 1,300 yards and 13 touchdowns - which rank in the top 10 for a Tech receiver in each respective category.
