Former Texas Tech and current Detroit Lions football player Manny Ramirez was on the TODAY show on Friday morning to talk about how he became the first in his family to attend college.
In a series called “Together We Make Football,” Ramirez talked about how his parents met while roofing, and how he worked to get scholarships to attend college.
Ramirez played at Tech from 2002-06, before being drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 2007 NFL Draft. After a four-year stint in Denver, Ramirez returned to the Lions in April.
