Football lands highest New Mexico prospect

After a couple of silent days, football head coach Matt Wells gave a shot at the recruitment, landing DE Philip Blidi from Portales, New Mexico. According to the main recruiting services, he’s the no. 1 player in New Mexico and is in the top-40 nationally for his position.

He’s the first player from this state signed by Texas Tech since 2011, as RB Ronnie Daniels accepted the offer coming from the Red Raiders.

Blidi visited the school in May, and on that occasion, he met with Matt Wells. In June he had a camp with Texas Tech, and that was the moment in which he received the offer.
