With the news that Texas Tech ace Davis Martin is out for at least two weeks, the Red Raiders will test their depth on the mound and in the bullpen going forward.
The news was first reported by Andrew Doak on Tuesday.
Martin was 4-1 with a 2.57 ERA as the Red Raiders’ Friday night ace before he got hurt.
Replacing Martin will be freshman RHP John Henry Gonzalez, who’s gone 2-2 with a 3.91 ERA this season. Gonzalez will pitch Friday night, which means Tadlock didn’t want to take Gingery or Shetter out of their normal routines on Saturday and Sunday.
