Matt Wells has been fired from his position of Head Coach at Texas Tech after a heartbreaking loss to Kansas State by a score of 25-24. Tech had a 14 point lead at half and squandered it to a Kansas State team that had lost eight straight conference games. It was a loss that left Tech fans and boosters feeling an all too familiar feeling of what could’ve been.
For some this has been a long time coming, but for others, the loss on Saturday was the final straw. Under Wells, Red Raider Football had a 13-17 record overall and 7-16 in Big 12 play, finishing ninth in his first year and eighth last year.
